My name is Christina and I’m a writer, recipe developer, entrepreneur, and self-taught cook.

I went to school to study international business and commercial law, and immediately realized that I had no actual “real world skills” so I decided to drop out and started to work for a financial institution. While working part-time at the bank I also worked part-time as a waitress at a Vietnamese restaurant in Adelaide…This was where my passion for food developed.

Even though the salary I earned at the restaurant was only half of that working at the bank. I enjoyed working at the restaurant so much more. It was always fast paced, but the best part was the chef always sneaked me samples of his delicious freshly prepared meals (this must be the reason why I was always a chubby kid), I often would watch him work his magic in the kitchen and try to reproduce the same meal for my mum when I get home (time and time again I would fail miserably).

Food is my passion. I’ve been cooking since I was 14 years old, I constantly tried to replicate delicious restaurant dishes whenever I could. The magic that comes from putting together seemingly random raw ingredients and creating delightful meals still astonishes me to this day. As I grew and moved from job to job, the one constant hobby I maintained had been that I would cook whenever I had a chance.

In my down time I would cook up a storm for my boyfriend Fedja, writing this blog and patching together a living via various side projects, from freelance website design, sourcing stock for my online store and recipe developing. Some would call me a jack of all trades (but master of none lol), but I’d just like to be exposed to as many opportunities as possible and learning as much as I can.

Please be advise, I started this blog purely as a hobby and to share and exchange food experiences. I am not a journalist, paid critic, or professional photographer.

What readers can expect from my blogs are restaurants reviews from street food to Michelin fine dining. I strive to develop and introduce recipes that are nostalgic and thought-provoking. Hilarity often ensues when I’m writing.
